αAlphaBaker

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

The honest version — what Alpha Baker is, what it isn't, and how it treats your data.

What is Alpha Baker?

A math-driven, AI-assisted decision-support terminal for US equities and options. It scans the market, analyzes a live portfolio, sizes a target book, and surfaces high-probability trades with the reasoning behind them. It is a research tool, not a broker or an adviser.

Does it place trades for me?

No — and it structurally can't. There is no order-execution code anywhere in the system; broker connections are read-only. It advises, and you execute every trade manually at your own broker.

Is this investment advice?

No. Alpha Baker is a decision-support and research tool. Nothing it produces is investment advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation. It is not a broker-dealer or investment adviser. See the disclaimer & terms.

How do I get access?

Alpha Baker is invitation-only and free during v1. Create an account with an email and password — it takes a moment. Every new account goes into a short review queue and is approved personally, so you'll see a “pending review” screen until then. Once approved, sign in and the terminal opens.

What data does it use?

Free, legitimate market feeds (Alpaca, FRED, SEC EDGAR) plus its own self-collected implied-vol history. Academic datasets are used only to calibrate and validate models offline — never in the live product.

Is my portfolio data private?

Yes. In the desktop app your broker credentials and portfolio stay on your machine — read-only, never uploaded. The hosted web terminal serves shared market research only and has no access to any brokerage account.

What actually is the edge?

Not a secret signal — every strategy is academically documented. The edge is the ensemble: decorrelated strategies, regime gating, ¼-Kelly risk sizing, and a research loop that scores itself weekly and down-weights what decays. Rigor and discipline, applied consistently.

Desktop or web?

Both. The desktop app connects your read-only broker for full portfolio, risk, and options tooling and works offline from local data. The web terminal gives invited subscribers the shared research view — discovery, trade-timing, backtests, and the assistant — from any browser.

Will it make me money?

No tool can promise that, and any that does is lying. Markets carry real risk of loss, every edge decays, and past performance doesn't predict the future. Alpha Baker's job is to make you a more disciplined, better-informed operator — the decisions, and the outcomes, are yours.

Still curious?

The best way to understand it is to use it.
